The Necessary Evil

Sorry, we are late in updating our blog but we are obviously the latest.

We decided the date of our farewell considering the exam fixture. We just understood the importance of time and what changes it would bring to ones character. Windsor Castle was selected as the venue and it became a bizarre celebration in our (those who value friendship) life.

The weight of strangers was once again the same with the return of the heavy one. He was loosing weight and he could see the sleepy eyes through the rounded specs. He remained content within himself, chaos filled the air and we started to believe that there is some thing called ‘destiny’.

On the others side, the soil was fertile and it prevented reflections from it, but the impaired vision was seeking only the springs underneath it .The soil allowed the weeds to grow, the rain came and went, the growth of the weeds were fast as time. The most trusted myth of truth was scattered as the soil was heading towards the transition to a desert with full of mirages, again the word echoed in the ear holes, destiny....every time with a hug we told to each other ’its life, never try to hold it tight in your hand because it will ease through your fist like the soil in a closed fist’

After the last feast together, we departed like every other batch of students but we were certainly leaving behind our foot steps in our college. We three stayed together and enjoyed a few more days in golden tower, and then we departed for exam preparations.

We were back after spending some dizzy days at home, we were the same, empty as we left but none of us was nervous about the exam. We were so calm that even the usual last night preparations went haywire, we were sitting in a room ,face to face, haunted of some weird reasons .But ,as always ,we survived the exams and this time we were not worried about the results. At last, we vacated Golden Tower and the roads before us separated into three different paths.

What next…..only God knows….the thunderstorms and tides are over….the sea is calm from the surface….showered in the moon light, the strangers are going for new voyages but this time having a hurricane in mind against the tornados of the world. We were the same but improved, we learned to shout, to walk against the adversities and more importantly to survive.

The unending memoirs are still waiting you, but this time not from the college….from three different places…..new terrains, new soil, new quests and new relations……we invite you to the road we took and the paths not taken, we will give you a spring instead of a flower, an ocean while you search for a drop of water and we will always shout instead of whispering that ‘we were, we are and we will be friends, friends for ever’.
So, keep searching for the STRANGERS, here we come.

Pirates 3: This will go down to Davy Jones locker

The year 2007 has been a year of average trilogy endings and a few good movies for Hollywood. This one has brought down POTC series to a new low. Despite this, the movie is raking in money at phenomenal pace. This movie franchise has been all about one man, Jack Sparrow, the lovable, clever and witty pirate.
Johny Depp plays the protagonist with such flourish that anybody would have thought he was a pirate in his previous life.Geoffery Rush as Barbossa comes a close second to him. But the rest of the cast seems to be lost in the sea. It might be an understatement to say that Depp carries the whole series on his shoulders. But Mr.Gore Verbinsky seems to think otherwise. What we see in Pirates of the Carribbean 3: At World’s End is more of the boring Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Kiera Knightly) and less of Jack sparrow. There are cheers all around when Depp appears and groans can be heard when the other two appears with their romance.
The film seems to be catering more to a good lot of special effects rather than a plot. There is no plot or even a story to tell in this one. Story if any is that of Barbossa,William Turner and company seeking to bring back Jack sparrow from the davy jones locker in order to help them defeat Lord Cutler Beckett’s aim to put an end to the Pirates legacy once and for all.
Seeing the movie was like going through a washing machine and having a really dirty wash. This one is the longest of the series and arduous of them all. Jack Sparrow wisecracking to his other selves presents the best moments of the movie. Special effects is absolutely stunning. Especially the climactic battle was breathtaking. Overall, a movie for a one time view ( for Johny depp).

Over and Out

We stepped in to the last semester and there was a ton in store for us. Everyone was finding an organization for doing the final academic project. We three invaded Cochin and went to different companies and at last we got it. The heavy one was accommodated by Idea cellular Ltd.and the other two hid their heads in Blue Star Ltd. Now, here begins the second part of our story. The first one who got placed from our batch was none other than our heavy buddy and we were glad, but at the same time the pain of missing our friend haunted us. Even a job and the so called workahollism did not affect our friendship, thanks to the free connection provided by Idea.
We were climbing the stairs very fast and the final count down was in progress, the propellant was already ignited by the great warrior, time. Even the thought of leaving the college and the golden tower was beyond our imagination but we accepted the unquestionable arrogance of time gradually.
Somebody was busy with settling the relationships while somebody was expecting a nod, painful faces tried to be content with their company. By the end of the semester, everybody was back with their projects but an invisible barrier was separating
everybody, the corridors stood silently watching all.
At last, one ceremony was left before pulling down the curtain, the clouds of July and the monsoon birds were singing the song ,

“It’s the time to depart
To find the ways apart,
Find the joyous terrain
Hide your tears in the rain

It’s the time to depart
To heal your broken hearts
All will end and will end well
Its time to say a mighty FAREWELL”

Spiderman 3: Its a thin webbing this one

Everybody has been keying up their spider senses for 3rd part of the spiderman series. It had a lot to do if it had to cross or even equal the 2nd in the series, which is considered as one of the best superhero movies of all time. With three supervillains, director Sam Raimi had a task at hand trying to lend some plot to it.
The first thing you notice about the movie is its intro. It just misses out the comic book intro of the other two that perfectly matched Danny Elfman score. There is no need to tell the plot, anyway simply telling....Peter parker is now engaged to Mary jane watson and his alter ego spiderman is enjoying enormous popularity among the public.Harry Osbourne his best friend still believes that Spidey or Peter Parker killed his father and this belief inspires him to take up his fathers mantle as green goblin.Spidey has also to content with two other villains Sandman alias Flint Marko his uncle's murderer and also The Venom.Leaving out the subplots,Parker has some time to explore his own dark side which wrecks havock with his personal life but gives expansive power to his existing spidey powers.
The star of the movie quiet unlike the other two is the Special FX.The moment of the movie, efx at its peak is without doubt flint marko becoming sandman.J.K.Simmons as J.J is the only saving grace in the acting department perfectly matching the character in that of the comics. The biggest dissappointment of the movie is spidey's greatest menace,Venom.Eddie brock parkers rival, changes too quickly to venom(atleast to spidey fans).Overall, the movie is watchable for special effects. But for any die hard spidey fan, its a big letdown.

Paruthiveeran-A Review

The film released with the publicity campaign based on Karthi, Surya’s brother. Well, if you are not ready to go the theatres expecting it to be a ‘beginner’s image making film’, you are missing one of the versatile film in recent time. The film is versatile not because of its story but of its treatment to the story, frames, fantastic editing and more importantly strong characterization, full marks to director, Ameer
The story is happening in a ‘chandiyar’ village. The director cleverly uses the flash backs and the dramatic childhood love scenes to make the frames attractive. Our hero is an inborn courageous fellow who saves the life of the heroine and the story doesn’t give away any chance for predicting the next scene. The first half lacks some pace but it includes some cleverly picturised songs. The film is basically a love story but said in a three dimensional way, cleverly mixing up the character portrait of ‘Paruthiveeran’, his love and the chandiyar society. Unlike her other films where she resembled as a tannic body, Priyamani did a fair job in the film.
The most important thing is that neither of the new comers are looking new to the celluloid and Karthi did a superb job for the lead role. You will find a little bid difficulty in understanding the colloquial Tamil but the frames will tell you the story. The back ground score and the music is average while the superb script and directors cut makes the film good.
The film is a tragedy and you can witness a terrific climax which will haunt you even after leaving the theatres. You can find a rude paruthiveeran, a beautiful but bold Priyamani and the paddy fields of internal Tamil Nadu. If you love positive deviations in films, you should book a ticket for the next show.

Trade Verdict: Super Hit
Ranking: Must See

The Lost Premises

We went for the second industrial visit, oh no, this time there was nowhere to visit. The locations were very exotic and the equations changed this time, constants deviated from its value and all equations were reformulated. We saw the greenish mountains standing with unquestionable pride, the isolated valleys stood miserably in silence, the disgraced monkeys and the human invasion in the nature’s premises.

Somebody enjoyed the new company while somebody lost in memories of the old trip. When we reached in Salem, the heavier one vanished into thin air. We looked every nook and corner but not able to find the heavy unidentified object. When he returned, he was hiding something from us; at last he opened his small fist, wow! it was a ring for his beloved.

The world tour ended in Veegaland and once again we were back in our burrow. The third semester was in a hurry and we were not prepared for the exams because of the Berchnova. All opened the sleeping texts and the fierce battle between the sleep and study begun. We did not stop the night outs but shortened its time period. Thanks to the black tea, cigarettes and potato baji’s for making us a winner in the battle with the sleepy eyes.
Some time, we went for cinemas which melted the exam mist.
The exams were over and once again we discussed the possibilities of a pass, the finance people were very much confident about the pass. We waited patiently for the fourth and final semester and we felt an unknown burn inside because of some weird reasons, may be it aroused from missing the beloved.
So, the full and final is in the making, keep reading to our renderings.

The Phoenix with its ashes

Time was running like a mad horse and time was ripe for the annual management event, The Berchnova. Now, that was a real test for all of us as we were given separate tasks. We unanimously (?) elected the chairman for the event and in the daily night meetings in front of the college, the tasks were divided.
The guy with the specs was given the responsibility of making the Brochures and the other printing works. The one with green eyes was in charge of the kitchen and the local boy was given the guest relations. It looked like a play of puppets for us when our seniors did it but we came to understand how big the iceberg was, once we touched the tip.

We understood many things and the main thing we came across was that if we are taking this much stress for an event, what could be the mental dilemmas faced by our parents for grooming us to this level. We plead to all parents that please forgive us for our sins. Don’t leave them for a career because a career cannot bring back a lovable amma and a scared father, (of course he is scared of you and your future).
Everybody (we were 28) worked very hard, nights became days and we were cumulating the sand to make the mountain. We painted the toy cars with nail polish because we didn’t get any paint. We slept in railway platforms to cut short the expenses. We preserved the energy like a camel while we worked like a powerful horse. We complimented each other even though there was some noise during the playback.

The Brochures became ready within the stipulated time frame, we three worked like a single cohesive unit and thanks to the heavy wagon from Kannannur for her suggestions.
After the ‘world premier’ of the printing items, we explored the cities for hidden treasures. We booked the arena and we decorated it for the war. All suffered for making this event great, the chairman lost another inch in tension, the fair ones became tanned in the Jan sun, the decent changed to the nervous and soil was asking for the rain in the draught because of her committed hard work.

For we three also, the same happened: The heavier one was happy and the local boy was concerned because of one single reason, loss of weight. The guy with the specs changed his eye gear to a contact lens for better vision with a better power.

At last, the day came. All things went right in place and we cropped the filled paddy fields. Every one was tired but there was a smile round the corner of lips. Though the participants were less compared to the previous event, our feast was far ahead than the others.
Alas, the Phoenix rose to the air with its ashes in wings.

With this we covered the Indian and Arabian oceans, but the real curls of pacific and the trenches of Mariana are yet to come. For scooping to the depths, keep going with the strangers.
